Enable Agents to Book Orders and Accept Payments
Overview
The Orders feature allows your WhatsApp AI Agent to send in-chat payment messages, enabling customers to complete purchases without being redirected to external websites or apps. This is especially useful for upselling, renewals, or converting leads instantly—all within the same WhatsApp conversation.
How It Works
Imagine you're running an insurance-focused AI Agent on WhatsApp. A customer inquires about adding coverage. After a brief conversation, the AI Agent offers an upgrade. The customer accepts, and the Agent sends a payment message within the chat. The customer completes the payment via UPI, card, or wallet, and the transaction is verified instantly—allowing the conversation to continue seamlessly.
Getting Started: 3 Simple Stages
Stage 1: Configure Payments
A. Create a Payment Configuration
- Go to Settings > WhatsApp Payments.
- Click New Configuration.
- Enter a configuration name, choose your payment provider, and fill in your business details.
- Click Save.
B. Connect to Meta
- Click the connection icon 🔗 to begin the integration process.
- Log in to Meta Business Manager using admin credentials.
- When prompted, you'll be redirected to your payment gateway—log in and approve the integration.
- Once completed, your payment configuration will be connected to Meta.

Stage 2: Add Importer Details
C. Add Importer Details
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and go to Importer Settings.
- Click Add or Update.
- Enter your business name and address.
Note: These details are required by Meta for identity verification.
You can personalize messages for key order events such as:
- Order confirmation
- Payment success
- Order cancellation
To do this:
- Click the edit icon next to each message.
- Update the message content.
- Click Save.
Stage 3: Enable the AI Agent to Process Orders
D. Enable the WhatsApp Tool
- Go to the AI Agent screen.
- If updating an existing agent, click Edit AI Agent.
- If creating a new agent, navigate to the Tools section and add the WhatsApp Tool.
- In the tool configuration:
- Enable Create Order
- Enable Get Order Status
E. Update the Agent Prompt
- Modify your AI Agent prompts with instructions on how to:
- Pitch or recommend products/services
- Apply discounts
- Customize pricing logic
- Once updated, click Publish.
Your AI Agent is now ready to sell and collect payments within WhatsApp!
